The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Sheila and I have a flight from Detroit to Atlanta this afternoon, followed by a drive to Augusta in a rented car. The tournament begins with a players meeting tomorrow, Friday, at the International Disc Golf Center.

We're competing in the PDGA Tim Selinske US Masters tournament, an event that until this year had always been held in California and managed by Tim Selinske - a great guy who died last year and will be missed on the courses.

I'm looking forward to seeing the IDGC again. It was a project that took hold while I was on the PDGA board of directors, so I have seen it when there was nothing there but a meadow and woods. When Ben and Hosfeld passed 1,000 courses played, I flew there to be with him and Gregg Hosfeld during that round. (Ben is at 1,073 now.)

Best of all, better than the great courses, is the line-up of wonderful disc golf competitors. It's bound to be a great weekend. Sheila and I will try to share some stories and photos. If you are a DGRUS member and at the event this weekend, please say "Hi," we'll have a gift for you!
