The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

After a few months of below average playing I think I have come out of the rut! I've been playing for about 3years now and remember the days when I couldn't get a Dragon to go 100ft. Since those days, my putting has been spot on and my drives on average were over 350ft.
Until, that is, about 3mo. ago. Things were going downhill fast. Griplock, wormburners, and taco were words in my vocabulary with just about every game I played. My timing was off, nosedown putts going straight in the dirt which can be very frustrating to a player who loves disc golf as much as I do.
After finishing +1 after 36 holes yesterday, I feel that I might be coming out of it. I did have one terrible drive on hole 4 which hit a tree and rolled off. The lie left me about 225ft. from the pin. I grabbed my beast and let it rip. It stood up, faded right and then came back left and, BANG! Nothing but chains. It was great! I carded a 2 on that hole, but it felt just as good as an ace.
I still have plenty of room for improvement, but it is nice to know that my game is still there. I don't have to shoot nine down everytime I go out. I just wanna play well so that I can see that my efforts haven't been fruitless.

thats what we call a fairway ace. those are the shots that will give you the confidence you need to get your game back. just keep throwing and your game will come together for sure. everyone goes through slumps. if you dont practice as much, your game suffers. as if we dont already, try to get out as much as possible. if you have a portable basket, then try to practice your putting when you cant get a round in. even if you can, an extra half hour of putting daily will train the most important part of your game. have fun DGn!
