20 under par! That was the final tally for David Wiggins Jr. of North
Carolina as he coasted to a ten-throw victory and a national title to
add to his disc golf resume. The 15 year-old played some incredible golf
all weekend and was very deserving of the win as he dominated an
already strong field of competitors.
After all was said and done, the 148 competitors enjoyed a weekend of
VIP treatment like they had never experienced in disc golf. The total
value of their player pack and tournament-provided meals throughout the
event was $206 each... a pretty good value for thier $81 entry fee! That
figure doesn't include payout or the hundreds of discs and other prizes
given away during daily Lizard Games. And perhaps best of all: the
Kensington Toboggan Championship course was their exclusive domain. The
course will now be closed for another year, but will be waiting
patiently for the top Ams once again next year. Work to get qualified as
early as you can... all A-tier events from June 2010 until May 2011
will be qualifiers. Good luck and we'll look for you in 2011!
