The home of William Allen White, and the first all-inclusive Veteran's Day celebration, Emporia, KS is locate approximately 60 miles southwest of Topeka at the intersection of I-35 and the Kansas Turnpike. Founded in February 1857, Emporia is home to 26000+ people (as of the 2000 census), and Emporia State University (the 2010 NCAA Div. II Women's Basketball National Champion).
