After Thanksgiving dinner with my friend Short Bobby and his family I drove over to the Easley course to play a few holes before sunset. I arrived after 4:30 and the course was covered up with large groups of newbies playing. They all seemed to be having a good time with a new game. I hope to see many of them back as regular players in the future.
I played holes 1 - 5 and 15 - 18 or what I call the Short Nine. I ended up +5 but really didn't play that poorly. I did putt that poorly but was encouraged by the rest of my game. Even though the pinched nerve in my neck is bothering me in many things, I was only aware of it a time or two when I threw some backhands.
I wasn't aware of some changes to the course. #2 hadn't the tee moved over because they put A/C compressors where the teebox was. #3 has had the basket moved farther down the hill. I threw the best teeshot that I have had there but I had a large tree to hook around on my birdie attempt. I was going to drive by the 9th basket to see the work there but I finished as the sun was setting.
Overall I enjoyed playing again and I need to get back to playing regularly.
