The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Funny how sometimes taking your focus off of your game can actually improve your game. I find this site and reconnect with some long lost friends. Amped up I headed out today and played a solo round at my local DGC Riverbends. Now usually my solo rounds are all about serious practice. Today was a bit different. My focus was less about my round and more about the great time that is disc golf. Thinking about the great rounds I have thrown with these and other friends over the years. I let go and had fun, focused on this positive and just torched Riverbends throwing one of the best rounds I've had out here in a few years. In short I guess sometimes it's best to relax and play the game, without the focus on the final score, but on the positives of the experience as a whole. I truly love this game and the friends I've made playing it!

Nicely done Matt. I actually just figured out the same thing you did last weekend. I hadn't golfed in a week because i just started working at my new job. After work i went and hung out with my manager and went golfing with her and her 2 friends. It was really casual for me because they don't play as hardcore as the ppl i play with. I just went with the flow and by the time i got to hole 9, i looked back and added up my score and realized i was doing awesome for where i was at in the course! I just kept chill the whole time and ended up breaking my course record at oshtemo! It was crazy...i couldn't believe it! But it really made me realize that i can't get mad at my shots anymore. I have to keep chill and just throw my shot. Let it happen...it works! Great Job again!

I like to pretend I'm starting a new round ever hole. Who cares what your score was on that last one?
