Gee, sometimes this game sucks! I commented today to my playing partner that I dont think I've played as much as I have recently, but my game is going backwards, not forwards. Its crazy, my driving is getting longer and better, my midrange game is good, but my putting is BAD. I'm trying everything to get it back to how it was, but nothing is working. Practice each day, changing putters/stance/grip, I'm trying everything. But I think im onto it, I think I'm over analyzing each putt. Its extremely frustrating and really damaging my game. My best score on our local course is 28; six months ago I was averaging 31-32... today I threw a 35! The worst part for me is that I KNOW I used to be a good putter, but I've just lost the knack. I think I'll try Mark's putting clinic and see how it works out.
Another thing is consistency. I know how to throw a variety of different throws, I know the best shots to throw on each hole on our local course, but my consistency means that sometimes i park my drive, other times I throw horribly and end up 10 metres from the tee.
So I've got two MAJOR parts of the game to work on, which is a big challenge. I think if I can start putting better, the consistency will fall into place, so thats my number one priority.
You gotta love this game sometimes, huh?
