The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Gee, sometimes this game sucks! I commented today to my playing partner that I dont think I've played as much as I have recently, but my game is going backwards, not forwards. Its crazy, my driving is getting longer and better, my midrange game is good, but my putting is BAD. I'm trying everything to get it back to how it was, but nothing is working. Practice each day, changing putters/stance/grip, I'm trying everything. But I think im onto it, I think I'm over analyzing each putt. Its extremely frustrating and really damaging my game. My best score on our local course is 28; six months ago I was averaging 31-32... today I threw a 35! The worst part for me is that I KNOW I used to be a good putter, but I've just lost the knack. I think I'll try Mark's putting clinic and see how it works out.

Another thing is consistency. I know how to throw a variety of different throws, I know the best shots to throw on each hole on our local course, but my consistency means that sometimes i park my drive, other times I throw horribly and end up 10 metres from the tee.

So I've got two MAJOR parts of the game to work on, which is a big challenge. I think if I can start putting better, the consistency will fall into place, so thats my number one priority.

You gotta love this game sometimes, huh?

Thanks for the comments guys, luckily I don't get angry and spit the dummy, but I just get disappointed knowing I can do a lot better, and that probably doesnt help me improve.

Hopefully soon I'll come good. Thanks again for the encouragement.

I was where you are about 3 weeks ago and just in the last 2 or 3 days things have started to to come together. I feel that consistency in my game has been hard coming, but now I have just started to see that part of my game coming around, I have only been playing for 6 months or so after not playing for over 20 yrs, its not like riding a bike for sure, but I do see that part of my game at least getting better. Just whats going on in with me right now but you must have a love of the game, put your head down and run into it and break through this wall you have seem to come to.

man about a week ago the same thing happened to me. my putting went completely down the drain. i about lost my mind. then i decided to relax and slow everything down and im back to hitting putts confidently inside 30. i say slow it down, take deep breaths, find your line and repeat repeat repeat

dood you will get it!

thing is when you concentrate on one part of your game you may loose the other part and then before you know it it will all role into one.
