The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Wow! It's been over two months since I played last. This is the longest layoff that I've had since I started playing 8 1/2 years ago. Furman had a 6 p.m. baseball game against UNC-A and they have recently installed a 9 hole course on campus. Instead of going early to ride my bicycle, I went early to try the new course. I threw a 31 to be +4 for the round. Since I started with a double bogey and ended with a triple bogey, the rest of the round was pretty good. I birdied the 4th and 5th holes to salvage that score. This course had a lot of features to be only 9 holes. It had a couple of very long holes, some shorter holes. some very tight holes, some wide open holes, some hard doglegs, and some very scenic property. It was good to get back out to play. Now I can play disc golf at Furman and ride the Swamp Rabbit Trail out there too. The course needs some signage for new players, but now that I have followed it around I won't have any problem finding my way around. I wouldn't make a special trip to Greenville to play this course, but once here I'd sure stop in to play it.
