The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I played the temporary course on the way back home from Garden City Saturday and it was marked pretty well with a restroom but I was the only person out there. The parks dept did a good job for the temporary course on about 4 usuable acres (Bay St Park which was flooded completely during Hugo and did considerable damage to nearby houses) looking out over Winyah Bay. Most holes are 150' or less but two holes are around 300'. If anyone is between MB and Charleston play a quick round because the word around Georgetown/Horry Co from a person I grew up with is they are planning a couple of new county parks and if there is interest, a permanent disc golf course maybe considered.

Hey man, just thought I would give you an update. I live here, and this is one of my Home Courses. They are now planning on 4 new courses. well... 4 new parks with DG courses in them. Now, So far they keep telling me that they are still on, but I haven't really seen them moving forward. We did get another new course. Loris Nature Center over in Loris. It's 9 holes, but Horry County is going to upgrade it to 18. Plus, Horry county has 3 more courses in the works as well. Last but not least, Grand Park, which is across the street from the new Market Commons, is planning a DG Course as well. So 8 new ones, one expanded, and Tupelo Bay. The only problem is, no one here is in a real hurry to get these started! lol Just thought I would give you the heads up.

Oh, have you been to the new 9 holer on Johns Island, near Trophey Lakes yet? I haven't heard anything about it yet.

Sounds great we might should shoot some emails/letters to the park department to let them know there are some people intrested.

That would be awesome. I love the Georgetown area. They definitely need more courses along the coast.
