Thanks again to Chris for the wallet saving hook-up, even more so after spending 415$ this morning.
I got new tires, Goodyear Comfortred. After 250 miles, they feel like a dream, silent, smooth, less sporty but more grip. Waiting to see what they can do on fast corners and wet/snow hopefully before the 30 day trial period ends on them. I will know later tonight when I go fill-up whether I took a hit or a gain on MPG, if it's a hit I will return them even though they ride better than any tire I've ever had.
Played the first round with Chris and Jamie (and thanks for the raisins) again, Jamie stomping us with his Breeze and Magic. I bounced out on a drive for the 2nd time in 3 days, during my longest ace-less streak of the trip..
South Daytona, FL- Reed Canal:Perfect complement to Tuscawilla just a few miles away. Basically same landscape- minus water hazards. Short though, set-up for beginners, touch shot and tight practice. Flat through grassy park full of palms, no rough. Dirt tees, but well marked and next tee markers. Only one driver hole, finishing with 3-4 very short mostly open shots. Well maintained. Half ace runs, half roc/buzz shots, plenty of variety.
St. Augustine, FL- Good News:Plays around a church, half open and half short tunnels through native plants. Not much to it, good and basic. Has some brick tees, some dirt, well marked, clean. One shot over a pond, finishes with a 350' open straight shot. Baskets are very flimsy but they catch. If you pass by, stop and play, but not worth 50 mile trip from Jacksonville or Daytona just for it. 9 holes. Has church youth group on grounds- could be good exposure to lots of new players.
Tomorrow: Probably Cordele GA then Macon. Atlanta metro all week.
