Holmes kicked my rear so badly on Monday that I had to return to see if I couldn't restore order on the course. I ended up at -2 for the round but it was an adventure getting there. I bogeyed one by missing a 15 foot putt. I would make better than 9 of 10 putts from that distance, but it hit the chains and the basket then fell out. I pulled even with a birdie on 2. Then on 3 I hit the mando tree about 30 feet off the tee box. I hadn't passed the tree but I was on the right side of a mando that I had to pass on the left. I turned backwards and stretched far to my right and threw a Champion Stingray anhyzer as far as I could. It sliced hard around the mando and toward the basket but stopped about 30 feet short. I putted in from there to save par. Hole 5 is an easy birdie hole but since I switched to side-arm, I have really struggle to dial in this hole. It's short but has a four foot rise short of the basket which is guarded by 4 trees and a bush. I thought that I had thrown a perfect tee shot but once I got up there I was a god 35 feet past the basket. I birdied 6 to get back under par, then birdied 7 with a 40 foot putt. I finished out with easy pars on 8 and 9 to finish at two under.
