how I got started disc golf

My boyfriend and I were walking at lustig park and I couldnt figure out what the baskets were for so he told me and said we should try, but I didnt want to because it sounded stupid. Well my son came home on leave and my boyfriend and him were talking about the game and my son wanted to try so they went to dunhams and bought a couple sets and they asked me if I wanted to go and I said it sounded stupid throwing discs at a basket. So my boyfriend and two sons went and played and came backed and bragged about how much fun they had. I was jealous and decided to go with them and the first hole I threw the disc it went about 30ft which I was upset and hated the game it took me 6 shots to get to the hole it was around 300ft. On hole twelve I was being stupid and looking for my disc and my son threw his disc and it hit me in the leg,boy did that hurt. I told them I never wanted to go again. Well my boyfriend talked me into going again and again and I'm kept on getting better. Now I just love this sport and want to go all the time.
