Next week I will be moving from Albuquerque, NM to San Antonio. I know that Albuquerque (or Abq) is not the disc golf mecca of the nation, but I have received my disc golf education in this great city. For those of you who don't know we have some really great courses in this state (Sipapu, Camp of the Tall Pines, The Baca, Grindstone, Lions Den, Lindrith). I know that none of these people that I am about to list are members of this site( for the most part), but there are many people that I would like to thank for teaching me the wonderful game that we all enjoy. Markham Reed, Shelia Kirkham, Kiko Velasquez, John Reed, Jerry Harrison, Art Keenom, Justin Whitman, Bobby Perea, Tony Cordova, Nick Sands, and the rest of the Albuquerque Disc Golf crew that I have not mentioned. Thank all of you for making me feel welcome in the brief time that I have spent with you all. This is such a great group of people that I will miss very much when I leave. If anyone reads this and you are in the Abq area, go to one of the local minis or to Roosevelt Park and meet some of the greatest people you will meet along your travels. I moved to Abq last summer with a very limited knowledge of the game. The people listed above saw potential in me and helped learn the finer points of the game. They welcomed me immediately into this amazing group of people. I have taken what I have learned from these great players and turned myself from a relative newbie to a 957 rated player in less than a year. The future is bright. I am looking forward to future endeavors but New Mexico is and will always remain my home.
