Yesterday I played in my second tournament since the Spring Fling. Again, at Veterans Park in Florence. I went, with the desire to watch Billy play, but as I approached the pavilion the excitement and adrenaline actually overtook me and I knew I had to play then! It started off with me having a big head and passing up NOVICE and entering into AM WOMENS. I had a great group with Kathy, Shirley, Machonne and then lil' ole me. FIrst round was fun. I really don't think I played so well but every shot was a learning experience since I was revisiting the course again. I did realize I wasn't sporting any cool gear with me though. I have nothing fancy, just some discs given to me by friends and Billy and an INNOVA bag bought off ebay. All have special meaning so I pledge to use them faithfully. ♥ Second round, I got booted to NOVICE. lol I had to depart from the ladies and join Jodi and Clint, God Bless their souls. They had lost two players so needed a 3rd so.....I was the designated 3rd person. My first thought was "Oh no, will these guys allow me to take bathroom breaks?" "Wiill they sigh every time my disc flew off into the bushes?" " Would they stroke me for any reason at all? " My second tournament and I am having to play with two total strangers. I must say, these guys were the nicest guys and made my second round quite enjoyable actually! When I threw my crazy shots and it ended up in the bushes they kept eye on it and even went in after it and stood there pointing it out and making sure I was okay going in and out of the thorny bushes. What nice disc golfers I thought. So caring and attentive. They didn't cuss, didn't get angry about any shots, didn't smoke and I felt like a princess playing disc golf with those guys. They made playing quite enjoyable actually and I never heard a sigh. ♥ At the end for awards ceremony they actualy walked up to me and said it was a pleasure playing a round with me. Wow, a pleasure playing a round with lil' ole' me? lol ♥ What an enjoyable day playing disc golf at my second tournament! ♥ As for my score - I actually shot the same as my first round with the ladies, so at least I am what they call "consistent". One day I will have the competitve edge perhaps. But for now, disc golfing, as well as life, is good.
