The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

My social experiment/Rise to the top of the disc golf ranks Cont.

Well, my time in Madison, WI is drawing to an end and boy what a time it was. I would first like to thank the entire disc golf community for being so warm and welcoming and for the oppurtunity to throw the best courses the area has to offer.  More specifically I would like to thank Jason Bullis and family for housing me and my dog while I experienced Madison. Mike at GLIDE, Mo, Jason Cox, Will Sitton, CJ, Mike, Ian, Brett and Bram, Jackamo, and anyone I may have missed...Thankyou all for the fun rounds and great times.

The courses I was able to throw were varied, challenging and very beautiful. Hiestand Park seemed to be the base of operations whereas I camped there for a few nights before being housed. Elver Park I only got to throw a couple of times at their fall picnic, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it was great. Token Creek was another I only got to throw once during league play. Yesterday a new friend took me to Milwaukee to throw three of their courses, Dretzka, Brown Deer, and Sussex. They were all fun and Brown Deer was quite difficult, as if to say it kicked my ass.

Thanks again everyone and I'll see you the next time I come through the region. Next stop Oklahoma, let's see what you got.

Well Mark, I kind of let the next location choose me. I do research online as far as courses go in whatever city, but mainly I just find the closest course and start meeting people and throwing with them. I consider home Wisconsin in a sense because it's where I learned to throw and the courses are generally spectacular. I don't have a computer of my own so these updates are sometimes few and far between. I'm currently Occupying Denton, TX and haven't thrown much disc lately due to growing responsibilities. I'm a big fan Mark, maybe someday we'll throw together.

Olas,

How do you choose your next location to visit?  Do you have a place you consider home?  Do you have a computer?
