This Saturday Riley Ackerman and myself played in the state doubles. We played very well and placed 3rd in Adv. I thought this to be quite the accomplishment with my 17yo partner. The weather was typical for a ND spring morning. The winds where playing 20 to 40 mph out of the NW. 930 tee off at sunset park a brutal park when you get no sleep. It is full of very steep hills and 24 baskets. Check it out sometime in Mandan, ND. I think its 8500ft. After lunch and the first round we all met back at Gen Sibley in Bismarck, ND another 24 basket 6000+ft park. Thank goodness this park is very flat, but full of trees. This course really reminds me of a southeastern course, lots of long drives in some fairly tight fairways with a low canopy. We missed out on second by one stroke and 5 strokes out of first. I must admit the first place team was rather good. I think if we would have had the chance to be on the same card with them we would have won. I want to congratulate Guy and Tom on there win in Advanced and to Joey Schmidt and Kyle Pinkman on there win in Open.
Looking forward to Rapid City Gold Rush and maybe Aberdeen, SD next weekend.
