wow scoot, that kinda makes me think twice about saying "for the cause". maybe someone needs to redefine the cause for the pdga. is there a players union? some body of players that express our interests as a whole to the association.

Kinda like ask not what the PDGA can do for you but what our TD's can do for them? After being a member 8 years I realize that they are moving farther away from what I personally feel they should do for the sport.

I still send in $75 bucks a year and I just don't think the majority of that goes to better the sport but instead it just helps the Org. There are many other ways to benefit the sport and I just feel that funds could be spent more efficiently in a way that would broaden the membership as well as the sport. Until then they will probably continue to have members choose not to rejoin and the membership will continue to grow just to have them drop out 2 years later.

Ask not what disc golf can do for you, but what you can do for disc golf.

when the owners of my local disc shop had their daughter she had her PDGA number before she had her social security number! And when she was first born she had to stay in the hospital due to problems and had to be in a totally sanitized area and the doctors even sanitized a mini so she could have it with her the whole time she was in there!

Congrats and welcome. I have yet to play a PDGA event but I joined to support my favorite sport and get some cool stuff with MY name on it and my own number. I get out of the membership what I put into it so I am satisfied.

Congrats. Don't listen to the negative people. You have some solid record keeping, ratings and other benefits. You are supporting the future and growth of the sport and don't let anyone tell you differently. Have fun playing tournaments and supporting this sport. . Decide for yourself which opinion you have, but I am glad to hear you happily paid up! Play well in 2009

Have fun getting very little for your money. At least it will save you the 10 charge per tourney, of course you'll have to play at least 5 tourney's to see the savings.
