I finally played my first round since I went to the hospital in late October last year. I have a hiatal hernia so I'm not supposed to be torquing my body that much as I might pull on my ripped diaphram more and potentially cause more problems. I have only worked this entire time and it was 2 days after my birthday so I decided to get out and play.
I played the shorter layout at our older course, Landis Park. This is more of a "pitch and putt' layout with all holes under 300ft and most around 200-230 area. I changed my throw from how I used to throw so that I wasn't moving around my torso as much and I got great results.
I shot a -12 from that layout, and would have been at -14 if it weren't for 2 dinked putts. Even though I didn't even practice putting or shorter shots this entire time I wasn't playing I still putted very well. I only 2putted 4 times and I most of my putts that I made were in the "tester" distance.
It feels great to be playing again and I hope that I can find more time to play this year. I probably won't get in many tournaments as I still can't throw near 100% power and I don't have the insurance to get looked at right now, but I hope to start up our SJDGC league again for the summer possibly.
I was offered a promotion at my primary Job recently that I think I will take so I won't have much free time this year, but We are trying to put out some more disc golf shirts this year and also Switch labels from SJDGC apparel to Hyzer Flip Disc Golf.
Keep in touch everyone and have fun on the course. I'll keep everyone posted when we put out some more shirts.
