The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

We leave tomorrow, heading south to the Snow Farm, for Texas State Dubs.

This year, I'll be playing with Tom Langley, whom I consider to be a pretty decent golfer. But Poor Tom, he doesn't know the partner he picked for doubles. Actually, I play alright when I have a safety net for a partner. It's when I'm out there on the island of tourney disc golf that I flail about.

Tom and a couple other Funkytown Flyers are leaving in the morning and driving his motorhome down and Brandon and I are going down later in the day. Five Funkytowners in one RV for the weekend should prove interesting to say the least. We have Mr. Keystone himself in attendance which always adds a little fun to the trip.

We're staying on the property as most golfers do for this tourney and the Land Baron usually proves to an apt host, with music, a bonfire, maybe some poker, and if you look, you can usually locate a couple of Lone Star's about the course.

I haven't played a tourney in almost a year so we'll see what happens. I decided about a year ago to just start playing more for the fun of it than anything else, which is what I used to do before I tried to get serious about it.
Thanks Old Man for the advise on that score, you're a good friend.

Well, I'll try to remember to update this when I get back form Winedale.
Peace

Man, a week and a half later and there is still some swelling and discomfort. No bruising which is good, but an annoying pain. I guess I shouldn't have tried to play the mini on Saturday. I shouldn't play this weekend either but I probably will since I have this sickness.

Well, my foot isn't broken. I went and had x-rays taken yesterday and the doc was gonna send them to a radiologist just to make sure there's no hairline fracture. So, for now, it looks like a pretty good sprain and the crutches are more of a pain in the butt but they seem to help a little. I'll use them through Friday and maybe if I wrap it up real good I can play Sat. mini, lol. Oh well, I needed the rest.

What a great weekend of golf. Somehow we found the cash, after taking six practice strokes by playing a couple holes we shouldn't have. Gordon didn't buy the fact that we were just trying to get our moneys worth.

Duuuuude - have a great weekend!

Heading to the ranch for the weekend w/ a bunch o' dg buds is the definition of FUN golf. Doubles in the country, camping, players traveling from all over the state...this is way more fun then serious golf.

Be sure to post a follow up to some of (printable) the antics that occur this weekend.
Drive friendly & birdie often.
