The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Well I finally get to give every one the update they want. I got out today and got to play rounds 2 and 3. So I pushed through 36 holes of play. I did not shoot too shabby. On the 1st round I ever shot the score was an 81, today I shot round 2 a 61 with a total of 7 pars, too bad I could not add a birdie to that, and round 3 a 71 with 7 pars as well. I had a shot for a birdie and the disc bounced off the chains and I got the par. The Gateway Prototype disc that I purchased was a great disc, for me it was a lifesaver a few times. The Spider did me good as well in a few situations. I know that you all keep telling me to buy used and I did. There was a guy I know playing along and he had an Elite Z Avenger SS that I picked up for 5 dolors, not a bad buy in my opinion. So overall I had a great day and I know that I have taken 10 strokes off from the first time I played. There is a Tournament here next week, not a big one but a local thing, and I plan on trying to get out there to play in it. If I do I will let yall know how I do. Until next time, bang those chains hard.

Peace, Love, and Bangin Chain

Cool on the wooden Mini, I have actually kept my discs all within range of one another, I am throwing 171-173 on the drivers and 175 on both mids, now the putter I am not sure as it was given to me by a friend but I am planning on getting a 176 or 177 Pro D magnet for windy days.

Since your disc collection is still small, try getting the weights of your disc in the same range. Most of my drivers are 171-173, my mids are 177 (though my Wasp is a 173), and my putters are 173-174 (my Zone, more a short approach disc is 169).

Lighter weights for your drivers will be better for you getting D. And heavier weights on your putters will help combat any wind. Your Mids, it's what you prefer, but I would keep your drivers within 2-3grs, your mids the same and your putters the same. Just something to think about.

Keep us posted on your first tourney. My first sanctioned tourney I didn't cash, but I did get the long putt of the day and brought home a nice wooden mini.
