Saturday Doubles at Fenwick 10-6-2012

First Blog post. Yay.

Tied for first, lost on the first playoff hole.  ended up at -10.

23 people, first place paid $70, 2nd paid $35.  Expensive miss on that playoff hole in the land of nickle and dime golf.  This was my first time attending, great group of hard corps, I spotted 2 different guys with *big* discatcher tattoos on their forearms - was fortunate to be teamed with one of them - Blaine - who's course knowledge secured the 2nd place showing for sure.  He sunk a blind UD putt through the V of a huge tree - off one knee - buried in shrubbery on a crazy off-camber lie on the final hole - one of the most amazing 'saves' from a shitty lie I think I've ever personally witnessed.  Was a great day to show up as this was the annual 'weekly dubs appreciation day' - so we had free burgers before teeing off (BBQ!) and then I threw in $10 of my $17 winnings towards the raffle - which I scored a CFR Glo Firebird - which I traded for a 2007 USDGC Champ Roc double stamp.  CHING!!!! My first Champ Roc!   Great day of dubs - will definitely be back again!
