Saved From the Recycling Bin

The year was 2005 and I hadn't thrown a disc in close to ten years. I gave up playing in 1996 or 97 I'm not sure. I do know that I quit to try to be a better dad. Anyway back to 05, I came up with the idea of selling all my discs. I figured the money I got I could put into another hobby that I was actually participating in.

Enter my youngest a son a senior in High School. He convinced me to keep my discs that he knew I loved. My older son loves me also but he didn't see what his younger brother saw. My boys took me out to a nearby course later that year but I wouldn't start tossing the plastic regularly for about three years.

I'll blog more about my journey back to the disc golf world in the coming weeks.

I started my brother and my Dad playing disc golf about two years ago and I feel like we have never been closer. It is the first thing that the three of us have truly shared. My father and I were always close, but I think disc golf dominated 80% of our conversations. Long story short. Disc golf is the perfect father son sport.

Yeah that was one of the first things i noticed. My bag is now full of a lot of the latest Discraft has put out! Another I noticed is all the different types of plastic, I love it, this sport just keeps getting better and better :).
