The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

When I am preparing to throw in 0-30 degree weather I like to layer up. Thick/warm socks are a must have, 2 pairs of sweatpants with a pair of thin nylon type pants over them, a long sleeve shirt, thin fleece vest (good for chest warmth), a hoodie, a fleece balaclava (these are awesome for extreme cold), waterproof boots and a pair of warm gloves. Anything above 20 degrees and I am losing the hoodie and a pair of sweatpants. With this combination of layering I am able to stay warm and get a good range of upper body motion. But something is still missing...BEVERAGE. I always have a beverage in my bag during the summer, why not now? So on my next venture through the frigid cold I plan to bring along some hot chocolate. mmmm, sounds good already. My MP3 player will be on me as well since I normally throw solo. Throwing solo about 85% of the time gets to be a little lonesome. Although, it is nice to be able to throw multiple discs at your own pace and not have to wait for others in your group or holding up others behind you, even though you dont have to worry about people or groups out here this time of year. Hopefully i can put an end to that "solo" business soon seeing as though i plan on throwing with a league this weekend. This weekend will be the first time in my 6 month disc golf career that I will participate in any sort of league or tourny play. I have only played with a few of my friends, 2 of them consistently for about 2 months and that was 3 months ago. Having the opportunity to play with seasoned players will be a tremendous (hopefully ongoing) learning experience for me. Either way, I plan on staying warm during the occasion. I would really like to find some quality waterproof pants and a waterproof jacket for those rainy/snowy/sleet filled days. Maybe santa will be good to me this year, I know I have been...*wink wink*
