The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I am pretty excited in the newest development of my game, a forehand roller. I have only been working on this for a few weeks and they already go as far as my average backhand or sidearm drive. the process started more or less as an exit strategy for sneaking out of the woods after a poor drive. Sweet! It worked and then some. Right now I am still in the experimental stages; I am working with my Flicks, Avenger and Xcaliber. I have tried my sidewinder as well, but with less success than my overstable discs. they are more forgiving I suppose. I have also been working on a new putting stance with both feet facing foward. I was standing in a line with the basket, but have not been improving on my consistancy, so it was definitely time for a change. Apparently it was time for a few.

two finger; like my flick shot but with higher release point at maybe 40-45 degree angle.

Have you tried a forehand roller with a Zone? When Terry Calhoun posted about the Zone roller, I tried it a few times and it works great for me...very predictable...but it doesn't get that much D...at least it doesn't with my arm. hahaha ...try it...you will like it...

Ah, the forehand roller. I picked that shot up by watching Ring do it years ago. I always used a champ Firebird; the understable stuff doesn't stay standing up as well. I can get understable discs to roll with a backhand roller.

I use an Eclipse . There is something about the rim design that allows it to keep an edge . The diameter of the disc lets it roll like a wheel. I like max weight of 180gms. The newer plastics don't work as well as the older original IMHO. If you can get your hands on one give it a try .
