I finally make it back to Timmons to play. I only wanted to play nine and there was a slow group of young lovers on #1 so I went to the back nine. It has been a long time since I played Timmons and I am throwing much longer than I was before. I ended up +1 for the nine holes, but that was after opening with 3 straight bogeys. I followed them with two birdies and parred my way out. I made a great putt to save par on #16. It was about 35 feet that had to ess right then left around a pair of trees. It landed gently in the chains to save a miserably played hole.

The new #16 can be tough if you don't hit that 'double gap' off the tee. I normally throw something overstable like an FL sidearm and aim for the base of the largest tree before the basket. As long as it makes it past the line of trees on the other side of what used to be 14's fairway, I'll normally have a putt at it.

It is getting a lot easier (clearer) to take a run at the basket from below the hole too.
