The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Tomorrow, I embark upon a tumultuous journey...full of work, family, parties, and disc golf. From Santa Fe we are off to Denver for a work training that will keep my mind occupied until Saturday, whence I shall begin my trek. Without the children, my wife and I will enjoy a late night party smorgasbord at the Electric Daisy Carnival--after that it is to Winter Park for 6 days of mountainous vacation.

The Winter Park home is no further than 20 miles from great mountain disc golf. Winter Park resort will be the first on our list, climbing to over 10,500 feet to play a 12,000 foot monster amidst the clouds. The Snow Mountain Ranch YMCA in Tabernash, Pioneer Park DGC in Sulfur Springs, and Frisco Peninsula course are soon to follow with Adventure Ridge at Vail Resort to finish a week of flicks and backhands; triumphs and missed opportunities.

To be sure, the week will be great, as it is the first time in over 4 years that we have been able to go on holiday without our two munchkins. The solitude glorious; the air thin; the beer cold; the golf divine; reunion savory.

For those of you unlucky enough to read up to this point...Stay tuned for reports.

New bypass? I will have to check that out--its been a few years since I've been in the high country--it would make it much more accessible to get to Central City--thanks for the heads-up.

It's not bad at all, with the new bypass from Idaho Springs to Winter Park, less than twenty minutes from the bypass, and beautiful views up there, plus because it's a ghost town, you'll most likely run across Elk on the course.

I've read great things about that course, but I'm afraid its a bit out off the beaten path--but I will definitely try to get there--thanks for the comment!

Dude, you really need to play the private course at Ghost Town Disc Golf Sanctuary in Russell Gulch. But you have to call ahead to get the ok to play as it is on private property. Plus it's right there by Central City if you like to gamble. Look it up on the PDGA course directory.
