I've been bringing my two 13 year old nephew's along when playing a round of DG lately, it's kinda fun to watch their love of the game grow. They are twins and even though the look, act, ect. alike, it seems that Tom is finding much easier to play than John.
One of the problems is that John is a "Lefty" so with me being a RHBH thrower I've got to remember to show him everything backwards so were both working on that angle. Tom seems to be able to get the idea of "snap" much better than John although they both do the "up to the moon shot" a lot, LOL!! ;) Their parents don't do anything physcial and I can kinda tell that their Dad thinks it's a waste of time. Still it get's them away from the TV and gaming stuff, long enough to get in a little sunshine and fresh (well semi-fresh) air, which they NEED!
I bought some 150's basic driver/mid/putter combo's, LOL, the hardest thing is to make them use "All 3 disc's" instead of doing "everything" with a driver! ;) That and having them throw easier when putting, I'm trying to get them to shoot from the chest but they want to try and "DRIVE" the putter into the basket and don't really understand why it "blow's thru the chains". I got a feeling that Tom could end up being pretty good at DG but John will be more like me and take awhile before he get's the "hang of the game".
Hopefully they will continue this as I said, they both NEED something that's good for them to do! Wish me luck! :)
