Turn off your car!

I am sick and tired of wasteful, lazy and ignorant people! I will give you a specific.

The school year has begun again and that means kids getting dropped off and picked up by car. Friday was my daughters first day and she cannot ride the bus because we live too close. My wife and I drove her to school. There was a line of cars waiting for the doors to open. That's to be expected. We park and wait. It's a nice day, we sit with the car off and the windows open. Others wait just like us...except, these morons sit running their vehicle of choice!

This is not a drive thru people! We are goping to be here for sometime, waiting, not moving! You're just wasting gas!! Anything over 30 seconds is wasteful!! It's not hot, you don't need your AC on right now. Put your windows down or get out of the car! Enjoy the nice weather.

This happens later again when we pick her from school! Turn off your car!! This happened all last year when we would pick her up from school. It's not just at school, but instead of waiting in that log drive thru line, go inside. Samething at the bank. Unless you have a good reason to not leave your car, it's okay to park, turn it off and go inside. Traffic jams...sometimes you are just going to sit. Turn it off! Use some common sense!!
It's wasteful, unnecessary, ignorant, lazy and stupid. The next time you want to complain about gas prices or the air quality on a hot day, just remember, turn off your freakin' car!!!!!!

I say " Run your vehichle! Your GAS bill is of no concern to me!" Plus if it happens to be a middle aged woman, such as myself, I'm gonna run the a/c. Hot flashes combined with heat/sun is no fun. Nevermind what others think. If I'm hot, well damnit I'm hot. I'll run that car empty and smile my ass all the way back to the gas station. If you want me to save gas, send me some money..otherwise continue your "savings" venture. Have fun with all that....Besides nobody wants to wait on some "moron" to finally notice the car line is moving w/o them in their car or worse near it...shoooot...I'm a mom and I work for my Gasoline !!!!!!..

I completely agree with you with out a doubt. Especially in a situation like that. However, i'm a pizza delivery driver and when i have to go downtown for some hood runs i like to keep my car on (for a quicker out) and locked when i'm at the door. That way no one can rob me or steal my car. I wish i didn't have to but its mostly a matter of safety. However, if it takes the customer longer than a minute or two i do go and shut it off for that reason. But those guys you are talking about should be a little bit smarter about that. Maybe you should see if the school will put up some signs saying if waiting longer than 2 min. please shut your car off or god will be mad at you....something like that...
