The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

Anyone else just seem less motivated to play now that the snow has arrived? I love disc golf in any weather or so I thought. The snow discing Idea just does not appeal to me at all. I cannot seem to justify to myself why I should throw disc with 6 inches of snow on the ground and 20 degree weather. I want to justify it to myself because I want to throw. I feel like it would be a big pain in the ass to find my discs on blind holes or if I happen to mess up and throw bad I probably wont find the disc because the snow is so deep theres just no way to see it unless I find the exact crack in the snow with is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Any ideas for good gloves that will keep you warm AND you can throw well while wearing? I just want to play disc Somebody make a giant indoor course.

Mark, the only course I play really often is Robert Morris Not many people Play that course at all when theres 8 inches of snow on the ground or snow on the ground period I live pretty much next door to this course. I do not have snow pants or much to keep me warm as my dog got ahold of my pair I was using. So its harder to keep snow out because my jeans and shit just gets wet and freeze. And Snow gets all in my bag because its so damn deep right now. Like I said I dont mind the cold its the trudging and melting and frreezing of snow.

Well is not really the cold that bothers me. It does but if it was just 20 degrees no snow on the ground none at all and sunny well sunny or not, I would go. Its this snow thing. Snow in your boots snow all over your discs, Snow in and on your bag. Just seems very miserable. I havent even been out discing in atleast 2-3 weeks

Is this were us texas players go to gloat? :)

sorry. that does suck. heck, most of my friends dont wanna play when it gets below 50, regardless of snow :(

I still think an inexpensive GPS device that could somehow be implemented into each disc would be an awesome thing for ANY weather !!

Yep, totally understand, it's gotten into the FUNK time in Dec. here in So. Colorado, it's been below zero at night and teen's and low 20's with light snow or WIND, yuck! :( Right now it's 21 degrees and sunny, with a forcast for partly cloudy and 38 degrees so I'm go'in throw'in! I can survive a round in the 20 degree relm, any colder than that and it's NOT FUN, jmho. I've also noticed that if your the first one on the course, it's not super hard to find the disc if you look for the "skidmarks" in the snow but if there's been lot's of players or in our local DG course, "walkers with dogs" :( it can be pure agony to find a disc!!

If you go out with friends you just make sure everyone is spotting for everyone else. I went out to throw in the snow for the first time last weekend, and aside from the poor throwing on account of (i don't know, a million different) evironmental factors it was fun.

I hear you. We're 2 inches into 5 and coming down strong. I figure the next disc I throw is going to be in Peru.
