This morning I met Bill and Carla to go to the Walhalla course to play a round. Bill invited his friend Nathan and Nathan brought his nephew Joe. So the five of us headed over to Walhalla to play. Poor Nathan has the gout and it was painful for him to get around. He also had to throw flat-footed much of the time because he couldn't step into his throws. That handicap dropped him down to where I could compete with him! Nathan's a pretty good player. His nephew Joe is a good little player for his age. He was pretty quiet but I hope that he had a good time.
We played 36 holes and I threw a 58 and a 56. I would have been satisfied with anything around 60. I was very surprised when Carla told me that I had a 56 on the 2nd round. I threw double bogeys on 10 and 18 and I know that I missed three of the obvious birdies. My sidearm had straightened out from Saturday. I really concentrated on not turning it up like I was in doubles. It wasn't very long, but overall it was effective. The sun really ripped me for the little time that we were out in it. Most of the course is wooded and was fairly pleasant to play.
