Sheila and I had expected to see a lot of you folks in Kansas City this week. We weren't going to compete this year, but instead were going to run one of the courses. Luckily the folks managing the event had backup for us, because we ended up not being able to go.
Last year, many disc golfers local to Ann Arbor met our nephew, Andy Ross, when he stayed with us a few months. (He was the guy in the red ball cap who cooked food at both the USADGC and the DGLO players party.)
Andy, and his dad, Big Andy, were in a car hit by a drunk driver last week. Tragically, Little Andy was killed immediately. We got Big Andy out of the hospital yesterday morning, just in time to take him to his son's funeral at noon, in Detroit.
Bg Andy is staying with us for a few days as he convalesces, because he needs assistance with regular refreshing of bandages on his many lacerations, in addition to his fractured skull, broken ribs, and broken scapula.
So, we won't see our friends at Worlds. But plan on us being there next year.
