The Community of Disc Golfers and About All Things Disc Golf

I am using this blog to tell you a little about myself as i can't fit enough information in the little space they allow when inviting friends. This will hopefully help you accept me as a friend and understand who i am and why i asked you to accept my friendship offer.
For those of you who find this and haven't been invited as a friend of mine yet feel free to invite me to be your friend if you would like to. If you aren't aware of this you can only have 100 open friend requests at a time and i have a long way to go to get to all the ladies on Discgolfersr.us. I of course don't limit myself to just ladies in the midwest. And i also am working on getting Male friends locally mostly to keep them informed of our clubs events, and try and get donations from them as well.

Hello my name is William Gilbert, currently President of A3Disc in Ann Arbor, MI.
I am asking you to accept me as a friend because I support and believe we need more women enjoying this sport that we love so much. Part of the reason I feel this way is that both my wife and daughter play disc golf and at first when we started playing we didn’t find to many events that cared about the female disc golfer.

Since then we have found a few organizations that do other than my club. TADGA Mark Kruse TD’d events (Toledo Area Disc Golf Association), Flint Town Flyerz events and J-Bird Discs who runs events north of Lansing mostly.
I am not saying that we don’t have more clubs that look out for the woman but we haven’t been in any of their events yet. Although we travel a lot to at least casually play courses in MI., OH., IN and further out occasionally.
A3disc ran a women’s only tournament (formerly the Michigan Women’s Championship Femillz Open) in Ann Arbor, MI., at Hudson Mills Metropark. The new sponsor asked if we could run a Male Master Age tournament in conjunction with the ladies event (Now named Beauties and the Beasts). I decided to go for it as I was in need of sponsors. Yes it is a tournament but I try to stress the fun and entertainment and to that end I give away a lot of stuff. If you haven’t already you could join the club/group here on www.discgolfersr.us for the Michigan Women’s Championship (Femillz Open) the name has changed in 2009 but that shouldn’t matter. Please accept me as your friend and if you can join my group for the ladies please. Our club also has a club/group here A3 disc.
I can also put you in touch with a few other women’s clubs or groups here on Discgolfersr.us if you would like to join some of them.
I think all the women here need to join as many women supportive groups as they can.

Women Disc Golfers
Michigan Women’s Championship Femillz Open
A3 Disc
The Women’s Disc Golf Association
Wisconsin Women

I am sure there are more women’s clubs out there I just haven’t found them yet.
