I took 13th place in a tough field. Not bad considering my shoulder was wearing down quickly through the week. Congrats to Mo on takin home the title. All the young girls in our division did really well: Rebecca & Michelle Frazer, Paige Pierce, Haliegh Shepherd. I wish I would've been playing when I was a teenager. Congrats girls!
I met so many great ladies last week and got to see some that I met at Worlds 4 years ago. Melissa (Canada!), Kim, Becky, Stacey, Tiffany, Toni, Jessie, Wendy & of course the local girls: Ashlyn, Deb, Amber, Lindsey; Ya'll made my week even better than I expected. Of course I didn't win; I couldn't focus because you girls were too much fun! We got tons of great pictures; I'll be posting more soon.
My goal for this Worlds was to finish in the top 10. I was close; held down 12th place for awhile. The last round, my shoulder was ready to be done. I got a couple bad tree kicks Down Under & lost my spot in the semi-finals by 2 strokes. Iris (not pronounced like the flower) deserved it; what a funny girl! That's OK, like I said my arm was done throwing & I didn't have to get up early Saturday morning so we had PARTY TIME! We'll save that for the next blog, tho.
This was my 2nd Worlds. The competition in my field never ceases to amaze me; these girls have got game! Had such a great time. I miss Kansas City already. Thanks ladies & CONGRATS! Hope to see you all again soon.
