Those are probably acrobat ants that have suddenly become a big local problem after the heavy rains in May. They are very hard to control, I've used several types of new chemicals with only moderate sucess. It depends if they have nested in the home or just coming in to forage. It can take weeks for the colony to collapse even after a successful treatment.
