The meeting went very well with the park advisory board. They really want a course at Bertha Brock (enough to potential sacrifice their softball field, but not their sledding hill.) They unanimously approved the idea of an 18 hole course. They are even willing to go in front of the county commissioner's board, if need be. The head of the advisory board told me that he would contact me in the spring and walk me through the area of the park they think would be ideal. I have pretty good idea of where they are thinking, thanks to an inside tip, and I am very excited! Woodsy Ravines w/new growth and a good number of mature trees adjacent to the softball field(they tried to put camp grounds in this area and failed). I have plenty of disc buddies and Ionia locale enthusiast that want to help. In the meantime, I will be waiting on the advisory board.
you may remember as the jerk who dissed hole 5 at Fallsburg, but now i know why we were defending. I didn't realize you were the brain child of the course (oops, my bad :). I'm actually trying to get a hold of you to offer me some advice , pointers, or any other 2 cents you are willing to spare. This Wednesday on Dec. the 9th, I will be purposing a disc golf course to Bertha Brock's Park Advisory board. Since Fallasburg is quite similar of a park, and I think a lot of the board members are familiar with it, I was hoping to use Fallasburg as an example. Please let me know what it took for you to establish a disc golf course.
quick question.. How much for entry at fallsburg, how can i pre-register, and whats the cap for players, how many people do you expect, etc... THANKS :)
I didnt know you were the lead designer of fallasburg. I love that course. it is going to be the course i play the most this season. I was wondering if there are any talks of cement pads going in. The pads would definitely make the course one of the greatest.
And about the picture, i cant recall what hole that pic was but ill trust your judgement. Taking a 4 on 16 is par--gotta love it.
I'm kicking myself, I should of gone, I knew it was going to be a good time, trying to go to the Crack Plastic on the 9th.
Call me this Saturday if you are playing, early.
