Comparing coaching, eh? Well hole 4 on Original Longs at Hudson Mills is 480 feet, and I can reach that one. My friend Evan couldn't throw 400 in March, he was inside the circle on that one the last time he played it in a tournament. My friend Justin was an 860 rated player when he came to Toledo in late March... 3 of his last 4 rated rounds have been over 935.
I don't mind when people knock my game, I'm not that good yet, still only in the 960s and I won't make the jump to Open until July. But don't knock my ability to teach, if someone spends a few months with me showing them what they need to do I guarantee a very very noticeable ratings jump.
No biggie...I ended up meeting some people at Bryant and Bassett Creek, both pretty nice courses. I wish I could play the Sundog leagues, but I don't get out of work until after 5, and dealing with rush hour traffic to get to the east side is impossible.
I can usually play anytime after 6 during the week. Thursdays is the league at Plymouth Creek which is very close to my place. So, if you want to go somewhere on Friday I'd be down. Or else, the Hyland/Blue Ribbon plan on the weekend sounds great. Let me know the details once you get a group together. Talk to you later.
Good to see! I wish I could make it up to the Majestic but this whole not-having-a-job thing gets in the way of travel. I'm not even playing Worlds this year and its nearby in Kalamazoo. I am playing well though. I've won Ottawa Dubs 3 weeks in a row, won 3 out of the past 5 Vienna Dubs rounds, and I won Thrills at the Mills in Advanced this weekend with 1022/985 rated rounds (in a playoff).
*dances* I'm finally playing like myself again, its been two full months (March 16 to May 16!) since I last saw this side of me in a tournament! I'm so excited, one more month until Amateur Nationals I'm in such a good mood right now.
And by the way, if you'd have stayed around here you could be like my friends Evan and Justin and have me as a coach ;o) My friend Evan was barely a 900 player in March but he'll be better than me any day now. lol
Hey Jayne, where you playing this weekend? I'm looking to try some new courses, having only played Plymouth Creek, Acorn, and Central Park. If you're up for a round, let me know. I could use a guide. Red Wings play tomorrow early in the afternoon, so I can play after they win. Let me know.
Hey Jayne, I didn't see your comment for some reason my eMail didn't tell me I had a new comment.
Nice win at the Acorn Open, you're improving fast. Keep working on your form, if you're throwing your putter well it means your form is improving (the slightest errors in form tend to send putters off-axis).
I see you won by like 23 though... if the competition isn't there, bump up and play Mens Novice. I think you'll improve faster with stiffer competition.
Hey Jayne...I just moved out to Minnesota for a job, but Michigan will always be home. I live in Plymouth, which is on the westside. I'm actually within walking distance of Plymouth Creek, don't know if you ever played there. Nice win today by the way. I tried my hand at advanced for the first time, and did alright. Lost an ace disc on hole 1 in the swamp. I'll definately be playing as many tournaments as I can around here, although I didn't register for the Majestic in time, so hopefully I'll see you around.
Hey Jayne, Certainly is a Detroit cap. I support the Richmond Tigers in the Australian Football League, so I decided to support Detroit as well due to the Tigers, and I used to follow the baseball when I was younger. Plus its a cool looking cap, and the US caps are always the best quality. Hows the shoulder going? Still resting up? Pretty frustrating not being able to throw, huh?
I do have a dubs partner, but not sure if he wants to play acorn or not, I'll let you know real soon. I'll be at Kaposia bright and early, will have to let you know about a round after - I got a screen door I need to put in this weekend yet. Any chance you'll be at the Dog tonight. It's RIGHT over in your area at Lakewood.
I'm glad you guys had a good time. You know you're always welcome ( even though you're a bad little bethel girl ;)) Glad Dan had a good time - maybe I'll stop being cool when I'm 40? lol - will be good to see you playing the dog when you're done with school - we need more cool chicks there, that's for sure! We'll talk to you soon Jayne. Bye bye Sams Club :)
