No problem. I'm currently reading Zen Putting and like that book too. These books really fit my style of reading. Short chapters, easy to read (not written by an engineer), and practical. Zen Golf stays right on night stand with all sorts of colored markers (flags) sticking out of it. It has really helped my game but you wouldn't know it by my pdga rating. For example, last year at a winter tournament in Stevens Point I started out with a double bogey, bogey, and double bogey. 5 over after 3 holes of a 1 round 27-hole tournament. It was at that point that I relied on the tips and techniques I had learned to pull myself together, forget about the first 3 holes and play each throw as they came. I didn't realize it until I was finished but I played the final 23 holes at 1 under par.
Here is something to watch too. As you work on your mental game and get it under control you'll enjoy watching what other people do mentally on the course. There's nothing I enjoy more than watching a kid half my age with more skill and athletic ability go down the drain mentally after a bad tee shot or a missed putt.
Oh well, I could go on for hours on this. I enjoy the topic. Good luck.
thanks for being first to be nominated. If I haven't accepted you into The Worst group it's only due to a glitch. You're in and first to be so. See you at FEMILLZ, the State Championships or the Worlds. peace
Sorry Jayne, no field work on Tues/Thurs for me, unfortunately. I'm loaded with classes. Mon/Wed/Fri are going to be intensive with workouts in the morning, one class, and then field work and rounds all afternoon into the evening. And of course Sat/Sun!
Tues/Thurs though kill me with classwork. :o( Sucks.
Yea the snow isn't that bad now, almost all of it has melted. Just today i played 2 rounds, (24 & 18) and it was awsome, but the muck and mud was pretty nasty. That was only at Kensington though. But yea I guess I can't complain, its 60 in january. Anyway thanks for the comment..................
Eh... no field work. Just four hours of doubles. Where I got paired up with Jessica... and she had Mike's devil kid... and I wanted to cry.... It sucked. Nonstop chatter, no matter how much we shushed him he'd talk through it while we were on the teepad. Ugh. Mos unpleasant round of golf EVER.
Smooth. Good ol' Oshyman. Haha... And you'd better be going pro in 2009. Just PUTT. Daily. Get your timing down on those drives and eliminate the early releases and putt like mad, you played 800 level that first round of the Vienna Open, so for sure you can be a 900 golfer in a year if you just put in the work. :o)
Just remember, its disc golf, it isn't really work. ;o)
You WOULD leave a weird comment like that. You should put in a rating on your "About Jayne" to the left of 800+ since you are an 800 level player. :o) Keep practicing your putting all winter, no matter how much snow!
I saw your comment about playing in the snow on another page. I don't know if you saw Muddy's reply, but you might wanna think about the Chilly Dog Winter League at Kaposia on Saturdays at 11:30am. We have a lot of fun, one of our special events is coming up on the 12th, and you can find more info at www.mninter.net/~inn0233
As I'm sure you know, disc golf needs more women participating (only 2 playing regularly this winter) so we'd enjoy having you. For a summer league at which a lot more women play, you might check out www.sundogtournamentseries.com The Sun Dog is the biggest disc golf league in the world averaging over 90 players a week, and always fun.
Do you know about the Minnesota Frisbee Associations egroup? It's at http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/mfa-online Just about everything DG in MN is DISCussed there. Also, you can check out the MFA online home at www.mfaonline.org From all these sites you should be able to find or link to anything you need to know about DG 'round these parts. Cheers.
I haven't been playing sence late September. I spraned my tenden. I should be playing soon. I tried left handed but on fun. Hope to see you at some of the summer tournament if you are back in the area.
Hi Jayne, Welcome and I hope that you'll sign on as one of my friends and contribute to one of the groups I've started, THE DISCTIONARY. Check my page from time to time to hear some fun music, read my goofy blogs, see my disc designs and offerings for sale on ZAZZLE or watch for great ideas and other things to come that will change the world. Let's start with a little thing like peace for all and a disc golf course within walking distance for every human inhabitant worldwide. Peace to you and yours and welcome from the michiganartist, lil charlie bishop.
