I made the trip out for the Bag Tag and had a blast! As of now no trips out that way planned for at least a little while, I may try in July, but will have to see how that plays out. As for the NT, nothing planned yet however I'm registered for the Bowling Green Amatuers and am freakin ecstatic about that. Hells Yeah! It's easy to stay busy with tourneys around here there's something going on within a couple of hours every weekend till the fall. Have fun in Golden Gate and kick some butt!
Hey Becky, long time no see. We're having a tourny up here on the 14-15th this month that I know could use a few more female players to help fill up the womans division. It's called the Bigfoot and is one of the oldest and most popular tournys in Humboldt. This year we are playing at the Redwood Curtain (my home course) and pump stations 1 and 4. It's a great tourny and only about a 5 hour drive for you. Let me know if your in, and I can let the TD know.
Hey girl?! Howz it?! Ready for this weekend?! Do you have any pix from the year? Have you sent them to email@example.com? I only had the one from Tahoe...cool ass pix though, sent what I had! If you have some, you should send 'em over Hope all is good and I am looking forward to seeing u soon! I'll let you know how the courses are playin'...heading up within the next two hours...give me a call when you get in town... Later Chica!
On behalf of Juliana Korver, I am honored to announce her inaugural ladies-only disc golf event: Juliana Korver Presents La Vie en Rose.
This unique event will take place February 14-15, 2009
at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL.
In Juliana’s words:
"Are you curious why this disc golf adventure has the name that it does? Literally La Vie en Rose translates to “the life in rose”. The English equivalent to this is “life through rose-tinted glasses” or even “life is rosy”.
If someone looks at something through rose-tinted glasses, they see only the pleasant parts of it. It is a way of life. It is an attitude that I aspire to maintain.
La Vie en Rose is a disc golf event that intends to combine many of the pleasant tournament aspects that we have experienced over the years as well as present new ones that will create a wonderful, memorable and rosy weekend.
This event is about warm fuzzies, feeling good and friendship. I hope that you all can experience the weekend through rose-tinted glasses and perhaps even take the attitude home with you to help you appreciate all that is good in life.
This will truly be a unique weekend that I hope and expect you will love."
Juliana has made the initial event announcement in person at the U.S. Women’s Disc Golf Championships and on the PDGA discussion board. For lots more information and to post your support, please visit this discussion thread, which will provide a link to the official tournament website:
Shawn Harrigan and I are the Co-TD’s for this event. We’d love to have your input, assistance, and sponsorship. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org if you are inclined to help Florida welcome the ladies of disc golf to a wonderful weekend of competition and comradery.
Yours In Flight,
Mark “Denny” Ritner

I made it out..it's pretty badly flooded there though. As you'll read later, one course had a river flowing through it, another was partially submerged in a flash-flood lake. Many roads were closed, some houses got wet and some boats got lost down a dam. They got 8.22" of rain in one day..beating the previous record of 5.50"!
I know that they would always love to have more women show up for the Goddess Games, it's a great event. They even have a mini tourny for the guys, but they have to wear a skirt or dress :) . If you try to come up for either of those tournys we should try to hit up Horse Mountain.
What's up. I was just out throwing a round yesterday and I came across some posters for a couple of events down here that you might want to try to make it down for. The first is in late September and it is an all womens tourny called the Goddess Games. It plays on my two courses right here in town. I know they would love to have some more women come down to help make it a bigger event. The second is in October the weekend before Holloween, and it's called the All Hollows Heave, and that ones at Ammon Ranch a course in the mountains east of here. Ammon Ranch is World Champion Dave Fieldberg's #1 course. There is a flyer for the Goddess Games allready up, and there will be one for the All Hollows Heave soon on http://www.parinfinity.org/.
Talk to you later.
Not in L.A's case..a lost cause unless you like fancy overpriced things, smog, traffic and sunburn. :( Vegas seems pretty cool though haven't gone out yet, just got new brakes, need new condenser they said..
Thanks again! Yes I did play Atascadero..turns out I had in 2006 also, just played 12 holes the other night because I was tired and had already played it. La Raza was a pretty cool set-up. I'm staying up in Calabasas at my Aunt's tonight :)
