Hey Shel thanks for dropping a line!
Do I ski? that would be a definite yes. (I've worked on and off as both a patroller and backcountry ski guide for 15+ years. Solitude is a ski resort, not my favorite (that would be Alta or Snowbird) but a good place to ski. That what's great about skiing the Wasatch (SLC), seven great resorts 45 minutes away. I've never skied OK, if was in the area I'd probably opt for a football game! Living in Norman you must either love or hate football, no middle ground.
Solitude to golf on the other hand is out of this world! It's Alpine DG no doubt; lots of hiking and lost discs, crazy weather and wind. In my not so humble opinion, park courses don't hold a candle to alpine courses (For example 18 at Solitude is 1250 ft PAR 3! You throw from the top of a black diamond run all the wat to the base; your disc just goles and goes and goes.) If you havent played in the mountains (or desert, my favorite) you haven't played! They have a tourney over Labor Day you might be interested in.
got a run, promised my dog we would do something and she's holding me to it!
Later Gator (or Sooner to be more precise)
Hey Girl! I didn't get to play this weekend at all. =( I had a midterm and a paper to write. How did the newbee do? love taking newbees out- they think I am so great! LOL!! They just don't know any better!
See ya soon!
the femillz is tentively scheduled for july 12th. at hudson mills metropark in dexter, mi. the tentative part comes from i want to sanction it but i have to get a waiver from the hembrick to do it. otherwise i may have to move it or go unsanctioned. join the femillz group and i will eventually start a thread on the PDGA site for it.
This event is a little different i believe then most tournaments i try to stress the fun of the event, while yes there is competition. in 2007 i had 43 ladies and after the 100% payouts all the AM's got a players pack (retail value of $45.00 or so) and after words I gave away another $8000-$9000 in merch to all the ladies, via raffles or just straight hand-outs. I make it about the fun and getting as many ladies to be there as i can gather. Come back to MI and have some fun.
Ok, so maybe my memory wasn't the best. I went back and looked and there were 5 women in advanced and 5 in intermediate last year. Bout the same numbers that there were at the Winter Warm up last weekend in Lewisville.
Wish I could've gotten out of work to go. 183 players in Feb. That is awesome!
Thanks for the pic comment!!! We are a hardy bunch so weather doesn't stop us LOL. There is something to be said about winter golf. nothing flies as far so you really have to rip it. Then comes spring and the throws gain some distance. I get out every chance I get, even if I have to create them LOL. Hope You have a Wonderful Week!!!
Thanks for the reply Shelly, I started that post because when I moved back to San Diego from from NorCal , some of the locals, who are my buds, were giving me crap .
I see your from Norman, ever play Lucy Park in Wichita Falls ???
