Has this ever happened to you? We played the Cabin Fever Reliever tournament in Bloomington yesterday. 4" of snow, 20 degrees and 10 to 20 mile an hour winds straight out of the North at Karst Farms Park. I don't know if you have ever been there but it is kind of similar to F.P. in that there is not a lot of trees and elevation changes. Anyway, we are having the players meeting and I feel the urge to take a crap. The bathrooms are all locked up because it's winter so I think well maybe I can hold it until lunch. We get assigned our groups and what hole to start on and we go to hole 12 (it's normally a 9 hole course so they added 9 temporary holes). I tee off and lose my driver in the snow so we are all looking for my driver and I can't hold it in anymore, I've got a turtle poking it's head out so I tell the guys in my group that I've got to go dump a load. Remember this is kinda like Forest Park. Luckily there were a couple of pine trees with low hanging branches nearby that partially hid my nakedness while I fertilized the course. I had to scrape snow off of some leaves so I would have something to wipe with. I literally just about froze my balls off! Then when I got done and caught back up with my group they said I got a seven on the score card but I really had a duece on that hole:)

I was thinking about the aces we got on hole three at F.P. Your dad was in my group when I got mine and I was in your group when you got yours. It was like sh#t rolling down hill! HaHa

Hey Eric, did you make it home OK? Thanks for the custom dyed star Mako, it's been working pretty good for me! I was glad to see you get your second ace, that was sweet - I only wish I could have finished the round with you. I played in the Pumpkin Shootout in Evansville earlier this month. I finished third....from last in my division (the old farts). I had a good time, I got to play both rounds with Bob StClair (from here) and Jack Rudibaugh from Evansville. Happy belated b-day. Sparks is back in town now.

Can Rpro plastic be dyed? When are you headed back south? Corey Frink and I were partners in Tues. evening doubles and we shot a -10 44 at Deming and took home first place. I made $71 playing disc golf this week, before entry fees ($10 bag tag, $5 glow round tournament, $12 Laura's and mine Sunday doubles, $6 Monday doubles, $7 Tues doubles = $40) but I just spent $75 at gottagogottathrow.com on discs and bags. I'm getting Laura four discs (2 150 class R pro bosses, a 150 class Dragon and a putter) and a Fade Light bag and I'm getting me a Fade Crunch bag. It seems like the more I win the more it costs me.

Are you in Brazil now? I won't be playing the tag round Monday because it's my wife Laura's Birthday. I will try to get to F.P. around 5:00PM either Wed. or Thur. for a casual round. Hope to see you there.

We have random draw doubles at Deming in T.H. at 6:00PM on tuesdays. Ace fund for that one is at $145. We also do random draw doubles on Sundays at 2:30PM at Deming. Both cost $5 each to enter. Ace fund for that one is at $282! At Forest Park, Bill runs a weighted random draw doubles on Saturdays at 6:00PM, $4.00 entry. On Mon. we have our bag tag round at 6:00PM. Ace fund is at $55. Looking forward to seeing you.

I knew it was a stupid question. I have been in ROF's before, I just had a brain fart. You wrote "ROF disc" and I was trying to think "what kind of disc is that". That would be cool!
At 2:10pm on July 31, 2010, Dan Wilkinson said…
Our tag rules require the #1 tag to be in play at least once every three weeks and tag #'s 2 through 5 to be in play at least once a month. The penalty for violating the rule is forfeiting the points you won in the last round. In your case the points won't make a difference that late in the season so if you want you can take whatever tag you earn with you! This is probably a stupid question, but what is a ROF disc?

Hey Eric, tell your Dad we said hello. Bag tags are going good at Forest Park. I'm leading the points by one after 8 weeks. Us Terre Haute boys are in the top five but Zac Frame will be falling down the order because he moved to Evansville last week. I think we are at the top because we play Deming Park all the time and it is a little bit tougher course. I average -3 at F.P. and I average +1 at Deming. The top five are separated by 20 points and then Bill Branson is 19 points back in 6th. 7th through eleventh are only separated by ten points. Since I took the ace fund in April, it has hit two more times. Corey Frink aced hole 7 at the end of June and Lee Hartwell aced hole three two weeks ago. There is a rumor going around that Sparks is moving back. I'm not sure when you will be here in Sept. but as of right now we have the Breeze through the trees tournament scheduled for Sat. Sept 18, the last bag tag round on Sept 27, bag tag awards ceremony and cookout followed by random draw doubles glow round on Fri. Oct 1. The cookout and glow round are open to everybody. Also you can participate in one bag tag round without purchasing a tag as a guest of the league. You can get in the CTP but not the ace fund:)

We will be playing tag rounds through the end of Sept. I'm looking forward to playing disc golf with you again. We may go back to doubles or do handicapped singles after the tag rounds end. Or we may continue doing tag rounds without the point fund. We will vote on it when the time comes. Bill Branson is running doubles on Saturdays now. We have been averaging 14 people on Monday tag rounds when the weather is decent, we had a high of 18 people one night and we have sold 21 tags. Not bad for just one round a week at one Park.

The only two places around here that I know of that sell discs are G&S Sports Cards and The Element Outdoors Store. The Element has a website and are located at around twelth and Wabash in T.H. They have sponsored our last two tournaments at Deming. If they sponsor your tournament they won't let anybody else sell discs there. G&S is located on Hulman St. between 7thy and 8th Streets (on the North side of Hulman)

Congratulations! I finished fourth at the Evansville Open - there were only five of us in the advanced masters division though:( The conditions were brutal, 40 mph wind gusts and 20 mph sustained winds and rain off and on all day. I guess it could have been worse. I did get to play with Jack Rudibaugh and Bob St. Claire in my group of five so that was cool. Always before in tournaments I was put in groups where I had never met the other players before.

Thanks! Good luck in your tournament and with your side bet. Suspenders would probably be a little uncomfortable when it is 90+ degrees out.

Finally, the ace fund at Forest Park got hit, I aced hole 7 in doubles yesterday for a $103 payout. My partner, Ronnie Head and I shot a -6 even with the ace and came in second. Ted Jennerman and his partner Amy won with a -10. Charlie Bullock got the CTP on hole 8. We had 14 people show up again but it was mostly different people. In other news Zac Frame won the intermediate division at the Bowling Green Amatuer Championships. If you look up the story with the headline "David Wiggins wins Bowling Green" on PDGA.com, Zac is featured in the second paragraph. Zac and I will be playing in the Evansville Open on Apr 25. Zac will play in advanced and I will be in advanced masters.

We played doubles at F.P. yesterday. Your dad and I were partners and we ended up -7, tied for third place (the last money paying position). We had a playoff with Vince Frost and Ted (a kid from Indy who is an IU med student). Ted parked his drive on one about ten feet from the hole, Vince was about two thirds of the way down the fairway as was your dad. My drive ended up about 60 feet from the hole but we had to navigate a little bit around a tree. Your dad stepped up to the minnie and threw a shot that anhizered around the tree and faded into the chains. It was an awesome shot. Then we went to hole two where we lost. It was fun though. We had 14 people show up. Zac Frame and Charlie Bullock took first with a -13. Jason Labella and his friend Mike (who played for the first time ever) took second with a -8. We are moving F.P. doubles to Monday because Bill Branson can't make it on Thursdays. Sparks is moving to N.Y. next week.

I still haven't birdied #9,10 and 18 at F.P. yet. Zac and I played there this evening and I shot even - 3 birds and 3 boogs. Seems like every time I have a really great round the next one is worse than average. We were going to play at Deming but there were 30 plus cars parked at the first tee and there were several big groups going around so we played at F.P. There were several people there too. Great weather, a little breezy but I can't blame anything for my poor putting display:(
