Hey, we had a great time with you and Shawn while we were here in MI. I am sad that we only got to see you for a day. I think that you should load up a picture from our round of disc golf onto here (it really is about time you had a picture of yourself here instead of that generic logo!).
On behalf of Juliana Korver, I am honored to announce her inaugural ladies-only disc golf event: Juliana Korver Presents La Vie en Rose.
This unique event will take place February 14-15, 2009
at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL.
In Juliana’s words:
"Are you curious why this disc golf adventure has the name that it does? Literally La Vie en Rose translates to “the life in rose”. The English equivalent to this is “life through rose-tinted glasses” or even “life is rosy”.
If someone looks at something through rose-tinted glasses, they see only the pleasant parts of it. It is a way of life. It is an attitude that I aspire to maintain.
La Vie en Rose is a disc golf event that intends to combine many of the pleasant tournament aspects that we have experienced over the years as well as present new ones that will create a wonderful, memorable and rosy weekend.
This event is about warm fuzzies, feeling good and friendship. I hope that you all can experience the weekend through rose-tinted glasses and perhaps even take the attitude home with you to help you appreciate all that is good in life.
This will truly be a unique weekend that I hope and expect you will love."
Juliana has made the initial event announcement in person at the U.S. Women’s Disc Golf Championships and on the PDGA discussion board. For lots more information visit the tournament website:
Shawn Harrigan and I are the Co-TD’s for this event. We’d love to have your input, assistance, and sponsorship. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org if you are inclined to help Florida welcome the ladies of disc golf to a wonderful weekend of competition and comradery.
Yours In Flight,
Mark “Denny” Ritner
Hi Tiffany. Diane did get me to sign up...finally. Though, I barely know what I'm doing. I also feel like an imposter because I can hardly call myself a true "disc golfer". I don't even keep score!!! I guess after all those vacations I'll have to get out there more.
I got Erin to sign here up yesterday:-) She and I went out to play together last week, but now she is going on tons of vacations in a row (for the next two months), so I won't get many more chances to play with a girl this summer. One of my employees plays and so does his soon to be wife (I'll be at their wedding in two weeks), so maybe I will have to hook up with her sometime. I think that Kevin and I are going to head up to Red Feather to play this weekend.
I had another great day today. Although I don't know my exact score because Kevin and I never keep score for an entire game. I just keep track of who did better hole to hole so I know who throws first on the next hole... I know that I had two holes today where I got birdies (got it in on 2 on 3 pars). And I know that I also had some pars. And I don't mean girl pars! Hmmm.... Maybe we should start keeping track! LOL
