Kristen,
I saw the September 4 article about you in the Free Lance Star. I started playing disc golf a little over a year ago, but I've not met another woman who plays. I have challenges with distance and I was wondering if you might have any suggestions for me? The article in the paper said you were interested in doing workshops to help new players. Just curious if you might have any suggestions for me. I live in Charlottesville and work in Culpeper. I also come to Fredericksburg a lot with my work. I am really committed to getting my skills improved once the weather warms up. Thanks for your time and hope to hear from you.
I see a picture of the woodshed at PAW PAW, I miss that place,......tell spence that J.P.( jim poole) is in Fla. and says hey ya'll.......i spent a week in the loft of the woodshed back when it was first bought by spencer... one of the best vacations i ever had...if u r in fla. look me up.......
On behalf of Juliana Korver, I am honored to announce her inaugural ladies-only disc golf event: Juliana Korver Presents La Vie en Rose.
This unique event will take place February 14-15, 2009
at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL.
In Juliana’s words:
"Are you curious why this disc golf adventure has the name that it does? Literally La Vie en Rose translates to “the life in rose”. The English equivalent to this is “life through rose-tinted glasses” or even “life is rosy”.
If someone looks at something through rose-tinted glasses, they see only the pleasant parts of it. It is a way of life. It is an attitude that I aspire to maintain.
La Vie en Rose is a disc golf event that intends to combine many of the pleasant tournament aspects that we have experienced over the years as well as present new ones that will create a wonderful, memorable and rosy weekend.
This event is about warm fuzzies, feeling good and friendship. I hope that you all can experience the weekend through rose-tinted glasses and perhaps even take the attitude home with you to help you appreciate all that is good in life.
This will truly be a unique weekend that I hope and expect you will love."
Juliana has made the initial event announcement in person at the U.S. Women’s Disc Golf Championships and on the PDGA discussion board. For lots more information visit the tournament website:

Tulum is the last maya stronghold ok ruins but certainly does not have the splendor and glory of chichen-itza or uxmal have a great time see you when you get back drop me a line love peace happiness linda
That's sweet that your teaching. I took last semester off because I didn't know what I wanted to do. I will go back to school in the fall and hopefully know what I want to do! haha
I love it here! I've been here just over a year and no complaints. The heat isn't bad at all, there really is something to be said about "dry heat". The warmest thing I wore all winter was a sweatshirt!!! I was never a big fan of the cold so it was just a matter of time. Now I'm a partner with Dan and Sue Ginnelly at Spinners on the Green, a disc golf pro shop right off of the Shelly Sharpe course.
Teaching full time and going for the Masters...you freakin' rock! Not to mention I see you've been winning some tourneys down there. Don't know how you do it but keep it goin'!

Survive Weidle is what I will show to my students the first day of school next year to really intimidate them.
The second is a rap performance I wrote and performed for my students making fun of another teacher. It is for a contest we do call "Civics Idol".
