Hey Ed! I am Sorry, I JUST SAW your message from April 17th....
I NEVER did get my Stuff Package from Disc Golf Planet. I kinda gave up on it. I probably shouldn't have, but I just lose interest in chasing things after a while. I am STOKED you got yours though.... :) Thanks for the Message!
Yeah let Sunking know they should carry the Rip disc golf Brand! I did send them a sample but never heard back from them. Maybe they just need a few players asking about the brand.
Mr Ed, Pattie and I plan to play in the Sarasota AM Open. We plan on being there the Friday before the Tourny. Maybe after we set up tent, we could meet you at your home course and play a round after you get off work. Speaking of work, you had mentioned that your job is particular about people calling in "sick"
Hello Mr. Ed : It's a real pleasure to hear from you. Cubby has been more involved with ball golf and has been playing much less disc golf. Therefore, he hasn't been playing much with our regular crew and hasn't been posting on his blog. I still play 1-2 times every week with the other guys(Rob, Tim, Max, Tom & Don) . I've been playing less tournaments because I had knee arthritis problems, getting old sucks.. Luckily the knees have been much better lately. I was spending a lot of time on the blog but had few commenters. It seems that people were getting away from blogs and more into Facebook. Maybe your comment will motivate me to resurrect the Blog....remember, if you are ever up in NJ, email me and we'll get together to play a few rounds....Peace Out....maggotx
I watched a couple of episodes last year. I think I could hold my own with that....definitely not finishing last. The competitors that have ipsc, idp, or sass experience would be hardest to beat in any speed related action shooting. Those are the disciplines with the most talent in shooting sports. The guys who have military sniper experience would excel in long distance targets...obviously. That's not something I have done much of. Our range max's out at 100 yards...I can shoot well with my rifles at 100 yards. I don't know how I'd fair with other rifles outside 100. One of the episodes I watched, had them shooting a M-1 Garand at about 150-200 yards. That's a real accurate rifle...I could probably hit the target after a couple of attempts at that distance. I watched the episode with the slingshot and the glass panels at close range, I would smoke those boys with that thing at that range.(product of a mis-guided youth I guess) HA HA1!! The episodes I watched last year actually had a ipsc shooter....master class. He was a little foreign dude from the Philippines...I don't know if he won or not....I only watched a couple of shows. He had a good shot at winning though. I got to tune in this season and watch some more. This economic situation has kept me from the range in a while.
If you want one of the new ones I can give you the $10 each plus shipping deal. They are heavier then the proto's most of all around 169 - 176g. The top plate is a little thicker to add weight... The lip is just as grippy but just a bit stuffer... was having a hard time getting the really soft to come out clean. But they do look better, and like I said they still grab the heck out of the chains!
So from what I was told, the prototypes should be good for tourney play! This is only hearsay ... but lots of people play the disc once it is PDGA approved and I was told it's as good as gold.
I just asked about the prototype disc's and if they well be legal to play... I know you have asked me a few times but I have been off the radar lately with not having internet for the past two month. But I'll get back to you once I know for sure.

I survived my first Tournament. There was two other girls besides me in Rec. I had fun. And I came in second.
