I generally fail and wearing boots to the course so am pre-destined to spend the second half of the day with wet feet. My Team Mates at work love the smell of my wet feet so I guess it's a wash (not so clever pun).
I actually did end up playing at lunch and it was great at the course. Water is definitely starting to puddle so I hope you like wet feet or wearing boots ;)
As far as courses go I've gotten to play a few more since we talked last. I would have to say for a challenge Bryant park in Albany is the way to go. Several of the holes are new and have been cut through some pretty heavy forest so losing a disc is a real possibility if not likely. It also has some nice long holes 600 feet + which are a bear for people with shorter throws like myself. It also has some fantastically designed holes that I won't describe in detail as to not ruin the surprise if you go up there and play. One note though, if you are going to play take some one that has played there before or finding all the holes can be a little tricky. discgolfcoursereview.com has a map of the course that helps and there is a map on the first tee as well.
Sorry about the long comment, I'll mail you my favority "short/beginner" course, besides Westmoreland that is!
Thanks !!! I have been really fortunate and have played with alot of great players and hope to continue. I does take some time , but I'm sure you will have many opportunities to make all the shots you you want !!! Practice as much as you can and good things will happen !!!!!
I'd almost prefer a shorter lunch but I don't have a choice so I use it the best way I know how. By the way I sent you an invitation for the Westmoreland Disc Golf club here on the site. Feel free to join if you'd like. There is information about a club meeting in a couple of weeks as well some other interesting info as well.
I can't imagine living real close to a course. I think I'd probably spend more time on the course than at home..
I'll definately have to go down there and play. I've been out playing almost every day. I figured out that it takes exactly an hour for me to drive from work to Westmoreland, play a round and then drive back so I've traded lunch for disc golf! I guess I am well and truly hooked.
