Hey Mel, Lisa and I went and shot a round and just to let ya know that signs on #1 (looks like its been ripped off ) and #12 (Still MIA) arent out there.
On behalf of Juliana Korver, I am honored to announce her inaugural ladies-only disc golf event: Juliana Korver Presents La Vie en Rose.
This unique event will take place February 14-15, 2009
at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL.
In Juliana’s words:
"Are you curious why this disc golf adventure has the name that it does? Literally La Vie en Rose translates to “the life in rose”. The English equivalent to this is “life through rose-tinted glasses” or even “life is rosy”.
If someone looks at something through rose-tinted glasses, they see only the pleasant parts of it. It is a way of life. It is an attitude that I aspire to maintain.
La Vie en Rose is a disc golf event that intends to combine many of the pleasant tournament aspects that we have experienced over the years as well as present new ones that will create a wonderful, memorable and rosy weekend.
This event is about warm fuzzies, feeling good and friendship. I hope that you all can experience the weekend through rose-tinted glasses and perhaps even take the attitude home with you to help you appreciate all that is good in life.
This will truly be a unique weekend that I hope and expect you will love."
Juliana has made the initial event announcement in person at the U.S. Women’s Disc Golf Championships and on the PDGA discussion board. For lots more information visit the tournament website:

My site has a full time sponsor now LSDiscs they are based out of Kansas. Hey- I have been busy too. My bouncing bundle of joy is now 12- in junior high- and is starting not to like me as much. We added to the the hound dog collection. Got 2 of those now. We are building a faboulous never seen anything like this in western new york course at a place called emery park (Almost 11000 feet from the pro tees). Way wicked cool. We had over 80 golfers at the beachwood this year. Crazy ass stuff. Sort of buisness? Can I sort of end up in prison???lol just kidding. What do you need my dear?
Hey hey, Mel I hope your enjoying DGRUS .. Im having a blast here. Great site, great friends, great fun. If your looking for another DGRUS club to join why not try out DISC GOLF JUNKIES .
We have over 100 members now and its growing fast... we would love to have you in our club so come join us, leave your comments, add or start a DISCcussion and shoot it up! Lots of fun!
Hi there Girly- how TWIN-Sitting going? I was thinking again of Coarse Designs and decided to pop into Hamilton Bayfront Park . Located in the WEST Waterfront I recalled the site with out many features. But walking there today I RECANTED my views of this underutilized park and now think it would make a Monster 9 hole Disc Golf site. I will take my Digital Camera this week and show you what I mean. 9 Strategic baskets could make this place ROCK! Its Tortoise shaped surrounded by water .
The Middle is largely empty sculpted land fill much like a golf coarse.
The Paths follow the Outside edge around the WATER and pose little hazard to pedestrians from Discs. Small clusters of Trees sit perched on rises o land and its View from the Middle is scenic. Easy Parking washrooms the whole 10 yards for tourism., blocks from a Museum, waterfront Trail Ride. restaurants. It BEGS for Baskets!
I furthered my exploration of the area since it has been many years since I had explored the area in my ROMANTIC period of life MANY MANY years ago. So many years there are far more TREES there over 20 feet tall.
I looked for area's that would be scenic and interesting topography for Disc Sport. I believe I found it at the END of the railtrail behind the arena at Albion FALLS terminating in the Parking LOT.
It is very close in its stepped elevations to Mohawk Park but devoid of trees and covered in short brush. It has some trees and is bisected by a stream.
It has a Pond, Parking is largely unpopulated during the week.
I did manage to evaluate the Albion and Buttermilk Falls sections of the Bruce Trail that follows the lip of the escarpment and Although I see some WORLD CLASS Photo OPPS I feel the FALLS areas could be potentially LETHAL (Though enticing) Open FLAT areas abound but are boring so I feel in order to really Promote the SPORT it has to be SCENIC and Challenging. This site provides both.
I have just returned from the 4Pad Arena (Bernie Arbour) Rail-trail and checked out the site as a Potential disc Launching site. It was being used at he time by 4 Parasailers Launching from the point in spite of the No TRESPASS sign posted by the City. The Parks department has removed a FROST FENCE GATE and provided Parking in the nearby field so I do not think they are serious about the NON Use of the old SKI hill they are just covering their Legal BUTT. There is a Perfect Concrete 8X12 landing Pad at the top of the hill the remains of a SKi Chair lift. Pefect for a launch of at least 150 feet downhill. A Small Path is still visible to retrieve a disc at the bottom.
Here is an areal of the OLD SKI Hill that we discussed by the twin Pads-
and the Golf Coarse bellow/ its the BALD denuded side of the mountain bottom left corner of this pic.
Changing the photo is easy change it in the change my theme part.
If you want me to I can make a Mel banner for you or DGC.ca if ya want. (hmmm I smell bacon... no wait thats a pro pig I smell lol).
I got a real nice fall photo I can use for it.it in my slide show here its basket #4... Its gotta be a certain size to fit right.... Just play around with it you can always reset it. YOU cant hurt it lol. I got code for you to copy and paste to get rid of the DGRUS stuff to its advanced but you can do it lol I'll PM ya with it later.
