Isn't Mac on the other side of the island? I'm not sure I'll get to that course but Tues @ 4:20 Wailoa, I'm in for sure.
I'll hollar at you the closer we get, and may lean on you a little for some inside info on the island too.
Dave,
I read somewhere that the course in Mackenzie had a once a month mini or tourney? I'll be on the big island in September, my wife and I are staying in Hilo and would love to play a round while we're there. Any info you can provide is greatly appreciated.
Peace
I participate in the world championship of this year.
By a delay of the application of JPDGA I with the amateur master was participated.
I think that I become the round that is severer than last year.
I thank for what I can participate in by the understanding of my family and place of employment.
I thank all people.
I look forward to doing round.
I'm glad you trusted your anhyzer shot in the last round at the BIG ISLAND OPEN '09. I wish you would of used those annies on another day, but I'm proud to have lost to you. I didn't give you anything, I just didn't execute at the end after nearly a flawless 3 rounds of golf. But I tip my hat to you in your victory as it was such a treat to have played the Mackensie course and with such a group of great players, all encouraging each other. It was truly an experience I won't soon forget. Mahalo.
I hope that Mackensie gets a permanent course in the park. If there's anything I can do to make that happen, don't hesitate to ask. It is my top 10 courses I've ever played. I'm thinking of retiring on the BIG ISLAND and after reading your nightmare, I'm still leaning your way, but will do more investigation before jumping in shallow waters.
after getting back to the mainland, I did the SF thing. Did the cable cars to fisherman's warf and back. Played the Golden Gate course (highly recomended, just play early as it gets crowded), Stafford Lake in Navato was the 2nd best course I got to play on this trip. And the 3rd was the RED WOOD CURTAIN in Arcata. But the course I got to play that really surpized all my assumptions was the KOA course in Willits. What a treat that was. In all I played 21 more courses on this trip, saw practically all of the bIG ISLAND, saw the USS Arizona in Pearl Harbor and met a bunch of great people that I'l laways wear on my sleeve as being a friend. Mahalo for everything HDGC and Nor CAL and my host Bob and Natalie.
ma lama pono and just like the tide, I'll be back ------------------ - +
Give my best to everyone and please thank em for making a memory that wil last a lifetime and beyond.
Pacific Rim tournament is an interesting plan.
Because it is easy to go from Japan, participation of a player may be possibility.
I look forward to the future.
I see you live in Hawaii. Do you know any pro surfers who play disc golf? I have asked a couple of friends but no one has been able to tell me anything.
When I tried the plastic pipe, I wasn't happy with the sound. That's why I went to the EMT. I also went to two different sizes of tube 1/2 and 3/4 to improve the sound. At some point I also shrank the top hanger plate from 14" to 10" dia. But I still want to know what you think I should call them. Are they bonkajin to you?
BTW thanks for all the great tunes, you got a fine playlist.
So I'm down with the bunkajin! When I first saw a picture of them in rich's FDM, I thought "how cool - great minds fly in the same air!". But my metal chimes are not really the same thing are they? Like I said they gotta sound really different. Maybe mine are "Binkajin"?
BTW I think I might start doing a "ring my chimes" tourny for my B-day. hehehe!
Thanks for the WAV file Dave!! That reminds me, we have a fellow "Dave" here in KC that goes by "Big Wave Dave". I don't believe he's from Hawaii... Nice home page :^) with Jimmy Buffet and more. Did you REALLY post your phone number above??
What up Dave? Yea I've lived in Irving since 68 and still here. Fritz Park has changed alot since the 80's still 9 holes, but we still make due. They actually closed the park for about 16 months around 2000 and totally changed the creek and added a pond where the play ground was on Hole 1. I will send you some pictures soon. I'm still trying to figure out how to put music and photos on this web site not that I have spent lots of time but when I get a few moments I will. Do you remember Ziggy King? He is the oldest of the group and has been at Fritz forever. Talk to you soon.
Hey there castawaydave. Tick here! I just posted pictures of the goals I've been making for about 4 years which are very similar to the homemade bamboo goals you guys have been making there in the islands. Well I'm sure the sound is rather different, and that means something. So I wonder, what would you call my goals?

Thank you for a request to the ring of the friend.
Hawaii is good.
The friend participates by Honolulu marathon, too.
I think that I want to do round sometime in Hawaii.
I ask for various information and advice from now on.
That was a ONE point round. I trailed Dan "Hyzer" Kilgore by two strokes until the final 9. It a all came down to a few few tough holes where I managed to keep on it and came through. I've won first before but this is the Best for me because I was at home. Even though only two holes remain the same during the tournament I so love that park that I was just compelled to win.
Mahalo to Dan for such a great effort on a new and challenging course. You are a worthy opponent.
Mahalo and
A Hui ho.
