It's just little things, like the angle of your body at release, your grip on the disc, etc, that the pros know more about than us regular disc golfers. I also check out online clinics, like Mark Ellis's on the Discraft website. Mate, if you ever come over to Australia, drop me a line and we'll catch up!
No problem David. It took me a few months of throwing without a run-up to get my technique down and then adding the run-up took a few more. It is the fastest way to see what increases distance and accuracy by eliminating one aspect of the game.
Gotcha David. I think I need to invest in a basket soon seeing as how MN winters are super brutal. Hope the surgery goes well for ya and the recovery is speedy! Where are you going on the trip over spring break? Hopefully somewhere warm!!! I should be back (as long as work lets me off) Good Friday through the Sunday after Easter Sunday. I'll be around here and there- gotta make a day or two trip out to Ft. Wayne to figure stuff out with Grace because I might be transferring back there... I'll give you my cell number before I come back and if you wanna throw a round you can call.
Ok... that was long. Take care. Hope that surgery goes amazingly well!!!
wow... I was gonna comment on how it CAN'T possibly be cold there... but out here in the cities we only have you beat by 6 degrees after windchills right now. You are 6 with a neg 13 windchill and we are neg 7 with a neg 19 windchill. Still... it was neg 29 here last night when i got off work... pushing carts for 8 hours!
Anyhow, good to hear from you! Hope it warms up in Toledo so you guys can throw some plastic! It better be warm Feb. 29-Mar. 2 cuz that's when I'll be there and I wanna play some warm weather disc (anything above 25ish is warm for me!)
I won't be taking any long road trips this summer thanks to my school trip to Spain covering July, but I will be making shorter trips to BG Kentucky (leaving Wed night March 26 then head back Sun evening). Not sure of exact plans but also doing Disc 'n Dat Bluegrass Open April 19-20 and AmNats/DGLO in mid-late June. Mini trips for tourneys always open for another person to ride with.
Hey Dave, I responded to your backhand frustration thread. And as for my disc trip, its all but fallen through. But it looks like I will be going to BG Ams in Kentucky in April, so I'm excited for that, haha.
One less huge trip, means money for some other smaller trips, right? :)
