stoney.....I won't be able to make it as my family will be in the Wabash, Indiana area on Saturday. BE SURE to say hey to Jerry for me! He's nothing but a GREAT guy! There's no doubt in my mind that he'll do a GREAT job for ya! Ask him what he thinks about the course he's helping me with!
Hey Nathan, wanted to remind you of our tournament at McCulloch Saturday.Registration from 8:30 to 9:30 players meeting at 9:45.Hope you can make it.Jerry is supposed to come from Indy to help me run the tournament.Hope you can make it.If not,I will see you sometime this summer.
Hey Jim! Have you been up this way before? Ya know.....sometimes I wonder if I chose the right project! (just kidding....it's a big one.....but I'm having a blast with it!)
Hey Nate, Good luck with your project. My eagle project just doesnt seem as exciting as yours. If i can get back up there i will try to play it....later.
Great! Thanks for the good directions. I probably won't be down that way until May for the Indy 500, and here and there throughout the summer in rochester. I will keep watching for course updates. Oh, and your comment came through. I just have my settings so I have to approve comments before they appear on my page. I approved yours.
Nathan, I have developed Klondike Skillshot for our district's Klondike Derbys. I have two pages which are a scoresheet and directions on how to set it up and run it. I'm not sure how to post it, but if you email me - tick20002@yahoo.com - I will send it back to you as an attachment.
It works like any skill station for a Klondike or a camporee where a patrol rotates through about every 1/2 hour.
I think there should be a "Discouter" club here, but no one has started it yet. I guess maybe I should. What do you think?
Glenn.....There are currently 18 holes laid out.....Flags and painted PVC pipe mark each pro and am tee.....and then also where the baskets will be. Just waiting final approval from the camps board as I'm sure we'll have to change a couple of the holes to keep everyone happy.....but pretty much ready to go as soon as we can! There are many people who've said they'll help when we're ready to break ground! Many other Scouts and also several disc golf players from other towns as well! I'll be sure to post pics of the progress as we go along.
Great job getting your fundraising and course planned so far! Can't wait to see the pictures as you post them when the course is being constructed. A word of advice: try to clearly mark or "rough-in" the layout of each hole and have a dedicated group of assistants who know "the plan" so all your helpers (hope you can bring a bunch in to the fun!) will concentrate on the important stuff, know what they can do and who they should ask if they are not sure! You will have more than enough to do but your most important job might be as recruiter and foreman. Keep up the great work and don't get discouraged if it takes longer than you think it should!
Happy holidays!
Peace, Glenn "Llama" Picks
I think your Eagle Scout project is awesome and a great idea. Have you tried to contact Innova, Gateway, or DGA directly? Im sure for something like this they all would be happy to help you out. Let me know if you want e-mail contacts to get you in touch with the right people.
Nathan- I got the messages that you sent and I will be putting a check in the mail for your project in the next couple of days. Not hard to have great pics when you live where the scenery is as amazing as it is here. Funny thing is my main pic is from August and the others with snow are from February. Funny what elevation and mountains do for year round snow.
I apologize to you UPDGA-Tim! I'd forgotton all about this part of this site till I got an e-mail telling me that Russell had left a comment. Thanks for the welcome! I hope to be joining the UPDGA club soon! Russell.....I have heard of the places you mentioned in your post though I haven't played either one of them. I'm from Frankfort Indiana, but the course I'm working on is actually between Frankfort and a smaller town named Mulberry. Though it's a bit off the beaten path, it'll be fairly easy for anyone to get to as it's just a few miles off of the I-65 Frankfort exit and also Highway 38, whichalso leads over to Lafayette, goes right through the town of Mulberry which is only about 2-3 miles away from where the course will be located. I can't wait to get your comments on the course once it's finished since you live fairly close. Also, when we go to actually begin the installation I'd GLADLY use your help! THANKS!

I just noticed that you are in Indiana. Man we are close to you, I'm sure we can help you since we are so close. Have you heard of Old English golf course that is close to Patoka lake? Dave Greenwell desiged the disc golf course that is on the ball golf course. He also built the Fun Farm in Laynesville Indiana, just up the road from Georgetown IN.
