While I do have an ESP, I find it to be fairly slick to putt with and while it drives great, I don't carry it in my bag. I putt with the Soft Bangers, they fly fairly straight and have a Fantastic grip. They Pro D's while still having a good grip are more stable, but not as stable as the ESP. Just a little input that might help.

I will say I have a Champion Beast and I don't like it near as much as the Star version. Just about all the Star vs. Champion comparisons I have are won by the Star. The Star Beast I throw is a little lighter and I seem to have better luck with lighter discs. Damned arthritis.
