wow was i way off !! i totaly didnt see that the picture kinda looked like a DC, and now that you mention it, it does look like a DC, LOL here i am coming up with all these other ideas, boy that went zzzzzzing over my head :-)
I started playing at the KOA in Peru in 1978, and have thrown many rounds with Alan, Mike, and Fred Salaz, among others. Almost all of my dozens and dozens of rounds there were thrown with Midnight Flyers. I can't imagine what the course would play like today.
The last time I played in Peru was probably 1985, but could have been 1986, and I don't think Alan's course was up yet. There were only (only!) three courses back then: KOA, Maconaquah, and Missisinewa Reservoir.
I noticed you had KOA(Honey Bear) as one of your favorite courses.Fantastic course isn't it! I am sure you know Allen Pier and Mike Mavrick well.Have you played at Allen's course yet Bill?
I am trying to build up a pretty good network of friends that I can multi-post to and let you know what is going on here at the lodge. Please join us on discgolfersR.us/clubs/The Lodge at Taylor Ranch
Thank you for participating in my discussion.
The experience in Michigan of this summer was a splendid thing.
I hear that Texas is the longed-for ground of Discgolfer.
Surely there are a lot of courses, and it will be that various how to throw is demanded.
I want to throw it sometime there.
Hi Bill, Yeah that's me on the mini. We had some good times back then, and that was just a small part of it. I only have one of those mini's left. I'd like to put you down as a friend, if that's ok? Thanks Bradness
Bill, I'll be in Richardson for the week starting Monday the 24th and wondering if you're available for a day-time round at BB Owen-- could use a local to help navigate it since I can't find a map online.
Bill, I'm hoping to make KC Worlds as well. (You know what we call 1st year Grand Masters?) Happy to quaff. You can meet me at my beer cooler after the rounds, if you tolerate the hoppy stuff.
Bill, I was not playing in anything but little local tourneys at Will Rogers when I lived in OKC, but I was at the 84 Norman tourney and at the 85 worlds for a day. I was in the AF then and got transfered to Hawaii in early 86 and there was no golf, so I played Ultimate for three years and did not play golf again and finally get my PDGA # (4838) until 88. I suspect that I know your name from the PDGA. I have lived in 15 states and am now in Tuba City AZ. on the Navajo Indian reservation. The closest courses are in Flagstaff 75 miles away, but I am going to try to get some interest sparked here and maybe get a course in.
Thanks for your reply Bill. Why would anyone give you grief for that info? Your name sounds familiar. I was playing in OKC from 83-86. Maybe from then. We have some common friends including CD and Speedy. I lived in Indy and KC as well as many other states. Have not played much golf in a while tho due to multi-kid duties.
G'day Bill, Anything I can help you with for your trip to Sydney? I'm involved with the local club and am very excited to learn of your Australian C'ships plans.
Regards,
Luke Williams.
I couldn't find a good link to the courses. You might try and get ahold of Gary Duke, the TX state coordinator. He lives in Plano (north of Dallas) and he was instrumental in getting the courses in Mesquite installed. He is here with user name gnduke. Or you can try and contact him through LSDGA.com

So there are more courses near Garland and BB Owen? I need to find those, because I was planning on Audobon tonight but was just told it's basically unplayable. How do I look up Mesquite, listed on pdga.com yet/ Ill go look..
